Group of nice charts illustrative of the early efforts of the Coastal Survey under A.D. Bache. Of special interest are the profiles shown for the benefit of navigators. Lot includes Monterey to the Columbia River (sheets 1, 2 and 3), San Clemente Island, Trinidad Bay, San Diego Entrance, Mare Island Straits, and Sketch 3 Showing the progress of the Survey of the Western Coast. All very good to fine condition with a few backed with Japanese tissue.
