Very large historical map (four sheets joined) depicting the empire of Charles the Great. Fully engraved with mountains, forests, and cities. Decorative title cartouche with coat of arms and putti, and lovely compass rose. Issued folded, now nicely pressed. Light tape stain near bottom fold with expert repair of tears.
