Charming double hemisphere map with the titles nestled between the hemispheres in strapwork cartouches. Despite the title, the map shows little of Capt. Cook's discoveries. There are no Sandwich islands and Alaska is barely a bulge on the Northwest coast. However, New Zealand is complete and the western coast of Australia is fairly accurate, except that Tasmania is still attached to the mainland. A fine small decorative map. Expertly re-enforced fold on verso and now perfectly press and ready for framing.
