The surrounding sea abounds with various types of sailing craft, vividly providing a great view of the crossroads between European and Asian culture and commerce. The city, present day Istanbul, is shown with all is fortifications and the great architecture of Suleiman the Magnificent. German text with a woodblock illustration of a Turkish merchant on verso.
