**Scarce, large detailed map typical of eighteenth century Dutch maps of the continent, with up-to-date cartography. The bulge on the east coast near Madagascar is gone, as well as some fictitious rivers. However, Vigiti Magna and Monomotapa still appear. The fort in Table Bay is depicted as well as Hout Bay. The large (uncolored) pictorial cartouche is nearly identical to an earlier may by Allard and depicts a native queen surrounded by indigenous animals and the riches of the land. Ref: Norwich #75. A bit of browning and old repair on lower centerfold, else every good.
