A very fine, early 19th century atlas. 46 maps: 4 ancient maps, 40 modern maps + comparative charts of mountains and rivers. Several unusual maps including New South Wales and Tasmania. All copper engravings with lovely pastel hand coloring, in outline. Light foxing and stains to endpapers, map very fine. Original binding in embossed and gilt decorated black cloth with leather spine and corners. Spine rubbed and just starting to split at bottom, but overall very tight. A beautiful atlas for the collector, not a breaker!
