Fascinating map of most of what is today the United States, east of the Rockies, and excluding New England. The Colonies of Virginia, Carolina and Georgia are named, as is Florida. A line along the Appalachians is labeled "Formerly the French claim'd all ye Country Westward of this Line." Large expanses of country are shown belonging to various Indian nations. In present day Texas is "Country of the Cenis" and there is also "The Garrison of the North or of St. John Baptist" in the region of El Paso. Numerous settlements, villages, forts and mines throughout. Small compass rose.
