This important map depicts the limits of the territory acquired in the treaty negotiated by James Gadsden in 1854. The explorations and survey were conducted under the direction of Andrew B. Gray. This large, historically significant, map is full of interesting detail, including numerous gold and silver mines. Includes an inset of the Port at San Diego. Ref: Wheat (TMW) #821. Issued as two joined sheets and folded. Now pressed and backed with Japanese tissue. Light toning on folds, else very good.
