A beautiful map of the Persian Empire, which includes present-day Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan. Two large pictorial cartouches (uncolored) graphically depicting the cultural attainments of the empire. The map is filled with detail of towns, mountains, forests, and even a village scene engraved in the Turkistan region. Very minor discoloration in margins, light toning on centerfold, and an unobtrusive spot in map. Overall very good with a crisp impression and fine original color.
