One of the most attractive 17th century maps of the Southeast. Geographically based on the Blaeu/Jansson model with the French and English claims in the region, and many early colonies shown. The most prominent features of the map are the large pictorial cartouches. The one at bottom right depicts two Indians building a shelter and the scale of miles at top left is an elaborate native scene. A bit of surface soil, else fine and very crisp impression.
