Undoubtedly one of the best, most detailed, early maps of Long Island. Although labeled a geological map its hand coloring and considerable geographic features make it a very desirable map. It covers Long Island and the rest of southern New York state, as well as Westchester and Rocland counties and northeastern New Jersey. At bottom right is a large inset of New York Island. This huge map is on two joined sheets. Folding as issued. Bit of uneven toning, but overall very good.
