A splendid early nineteenth century American atlas. This is the third edition with 46 hand-colored maps, together with several charts and tables all relating to the Americas. Each map is surrounded by statistics and information in English text. Includes 29 maps related to the United States including the important Arkansas Territory and Michigan Territory maps, as well as the John Melish map of the United States. Maps have some foxing and minor spotting. A few pages have tears which have been repaired with tissue or older paper. The atlas has been beautifully rebound in full leather with gilt embossed spine.
