Record of two separate 16th Century voyages of discovery - Sebastian Cabot and Diego Garcia. Dutch text, 82 pages plus index. Includes two engravings of native South Americans and a map of the continent. Engravings and map are folding and measure approximately 9 x 6". The map is titled "De Voorgenome Scheeps-Togt van Sebastiaan Gaboto, om Door de Straet Magellaan na de Moluccos te Stevenen, aan Reo de la Plata Voleyndigt". It includes a large pictorial cartouche with Cabot's camp showing the explorers gathered around a map and planning their voyage. Sebasian Cabot was actually searching for a new route to the Spice Islands when he ended up in South America. Ex-libris, rebound in half leather with gold cloth and gilt stamps title on spine. Minor stain on cover.
