First issued by De l'Isle in 1722 and one of the most popular maps of the 18th Century. This is the ninth state, altered to correct the location of the Marquesas and I.S. Paul Islands, including the island discovered by Quiros, and to acknowledge Davis' discovery of Easter Island. Ref: Tooley (America) #9, p. 15. Some light creasing, else very good and bright. Marginal split on fold, else fine, with lovely color.
