Yosemite Valley was ceded to California as a public park in 1864. This map was prepared by the Army Corp of Engineers, under the command of Capt. George Wheeler during the 1878-79 survey It depicts the state park boundaries and the "toll roads" leading to the park. Also depicted are the early camp facilities, trails, and Indian settlements. Folding as issued. Corner of left margin missing, well away from map, else mint.
