Four sheets joined to form two separate sheets, making up this fine large map. D'Anville was an early advocate of leaving blank spaces on map where knowledge was insufficient. The coastlines of the subcontinent are well detailed with the northern interior left largely blank. Rivers that had not been completely explored are shown with dotted lines connecting the well-known sections. The map includes much of the western coastline of Burma and Thailand as well. Several detailed insets of important harbors are included. A bit of toning and light offsetting, on very sturdy paper.
