Two sheets, unjoined, make of this large chart of the west coast of Africa. It covers a rather small, but important stretch, of the west coast and was compiled for the French East India Company. The coastline is well mapped, including soundings, anchorages and shipping hazards. The interior is completely blank except along the Senegal and Gambia rivers, which are shown in great detail. Finely engraved on thick paper with minor soil, mostly in margins, overall very good.
