From the Herbal of John Gerard, a comprehensive medico-botanical treatise by a noted English surgeon and herbalist, who was born in the middle of the Sixteenth Century. Some of its innumerable illustrations are original, although the majority were borrowed from Stirpium, issued at Frankfort in 1590 by Jacobus Tabernaemontanus. Leaf includes illustrations on both sides. Toned with minor offsetting.
