Hand colored copper engraving. It is a fascinating view of a battle between the crew of a small boat and a large walrus, with ships, polar bears, seals and whales in the background. The event took place on the Barentz expedition to locate a Northern passage to the East Indies in 1594. Expert repair on bottom centerfold, else fine.
