Leaf from the original Latin edition, by Olaus Magnus, archbishop of Upsala, a noted Swedish authority on the chronicles and topography of Scandinavia. For many years the "Historia" was recognized as the leading work in the folk-lore of northern climes. Woodcut illustrations of men dueling with swords and a historated initial in text. Verso: Men dancing around the fire with a historated initial. Toned with a bit of light foxing.
