Previously unpublished, Abert's daily field notes of his expedition with the Army Corps of Topographical Engineer's from Fort Leavenworth to Santa Fe and back during 1846-47. Filled with excellent details of the land and its inhabitants and lovely color illustrations from his sketchbook. Edited by John Galvin.
