Fascinating folio sheet engraved with two great depictions of the Copernican solar system flanking an srmillary sphere with four small maps (Western and Eastern Hemispheres), with CALIFORNIA DEPICTED AS AN ISLAND. Down the center of the sheet are three additional engravings depicting the solar system theories of Ptolemy and Tyicho Brahe, and a celestial map with the Zodiac. The French text discusses the various theories.
