This is the French version of the first separate atlas map of Indiana. More than half the state is undeveloped with the huge Delaware and Wabash counties taking up most of central region. The northern part is noted as "Indian Frontier" and occupied by the Kickapoo Indians. Fort Wayne shown with flag, guarding this frontier. Map is surrounded by French text on a full folio sheet, with a table listing the population of each county (Wabash having only 147 people).
