Lovely copper engraved map of the southeast part of Belgium. The map is fully engraved to show mountains, forests, villages and fortifications. Namur is at the center of the map. The map is based on a manuscript map by Jacques Surhon which was made in 1555, but not published for security reasons. Two striking cartouches, one flanked by putti and including the coat of arms. From the French edition (1598).
