Charming miniature map of the northern coast of New Guinea with the Solomon Islands. This map is considered the first separate map of New Guinea. A prior map by de Jode in 1593 also focused on the region, but was largely fanciful. Engraved by Pieter van den Keere. Strapwork title cartouche.
