A very unusual double hemisphere map. The continents are shown with only their major river systems and lakes, and much of the cartography is considerable outdated. In North America, there are faint outlines of the Sea of the West and the river and lake system making up the mythical Northwest Passage. Alaska is an elongated landmass stretching toward Asia. In Africa, the Nile is shown originating in twin lakes located north of the Equator. Australia is very misshapen with Tasmania still attached, and an incomplete northern coastline. The spheres are surrounded with French text with keyed explanations to the map.
