L' Abbé Expilly was a French diplomat, traveler and geographer. He produced a number of maps and atlases in the late 18th century including this miniature atlas. Includes six fold-out maps; double hemisphere world, four continents and France. The maps are finely engraved with cartouches and the world map is particularly decorative. 440 text pages inclusive of several tables providing the distance from Paris to cities throughout the world. Leather bound, titled in gilt on raised panel spine.
