Map of ancient Holland depicting the Island of the Batavians and the Canal of Domitius Corbulo. It depicts Central Holland and its waterways. This is one of several maps of the 16th and 17th centuries that illustrate the theory that there was a link between the Dutch and the Batavians, who were thought to be a very developed people inhabiting parts of the Rhine delta in Roman times. Title and distance scale in simple block style.
