Woodblock map based on the Ortelius "Asia Nova Descriptio" [1570], which was the standard map of Asia for more than forty years. Petri added it to Munster's Cosmographia from 1588 onwards, probably in an effort to compete with Ortelius' great atlas.

Minor show through of German text on verso. Japanese tissue repairs of a couple of small tears in the margins.
