Enchanting pair of hand colored fashion plates, from this superb 19th century ladies magazine. The colorists employed by La Mode were very skilled, making these the most beautiful plates available to today's collector. Each plate shows two ladies in afternoon attire. The superb coloring vividly depicts the delicate lace, the sheen of velvet, and the texture of the carpets - even the jewelry is highlighted with gold.
