Exquisite printed vellum leaf with illuminated capitals. The engraved illustrations were copied from the manuscript work of the Master of Anne de Bretange. The recto contains a full page scene of the crucifixion in a crowded tableau. Mary and John are shown praying at the foot of the cross and the crowd includes centurions on horseback with the city of Jerusalem in the background and stars in the dark sky. There are three lines of text with illuminated capitals at bottom. The verso includes a prayer: [Lord Jesus Christ, the son of the living God, set thy passion, cross and death between thy judgement and my soul. Now and in the hour of death…] with five illuminated initials, all set within engraved panels.
