Beautiful copper engraved Bible map by Romain de Hooghe, a Dutch engraver who produced a number of maps which were published in various atlases and Bibles. This particular map is from a section that tells where the children of Noah lived after the Flood. The main scene shows the earth with all its natural beauty, including a wide variation of animals. In the center is a partial globe that shows Europe, the northern part of Africa and the eastern part of Asia. At the bottom, scenes from the Bible are depicted including: Adam and Eve in Paradise, Abraham offering his son, Jonah and the wale, The Last Supper and the Crucifixion. Centered at the bottom is Gods Lam (John 1:30).
