View of Tivoli, which lies on the plain above the rocky slopes near the edge of the Sabiner mountains. In the foreground are three hikers which represent the trip Hoefnagel made with Abraham Ortelius in 1578, that is mentioned in the legend on the lower left. The inset in the lower right shows waterfalls from Tivoli. Fine original color with some oxidation of the green and a bit of rubbing along centerfold, and overall toning.
