Charming map covering the Horn of Africa and present-day Somalia, Ethiopia, Dubouti and part of Sudan. "Amara", the royal mountain, where the sons of the mythical Prester John were reputed to live is shown near a large lake. The map is neatly engraved with mountains, rivers, forests, and cities, and is decorated with a compass rose and a pictorial cartouche featuring the Emperor of Abyssinia's council and a unicorn.
