Impressive map of central Africa showing the legendary kingdom of the Christian king Prester John. Cartographically similar to Ortelius's map, but including a large inset of the Congo region. The kingdom itself is shown atop the "Amara Mons". Superb old color with strapwork title and scale of miles cartouches.

Condition: C

Mis-folded with couple of small tears in bottom margin and 1 1/2" tear into inset, closed with cellophane tape, else very good, with superb color.
