Elaborately decorated map of the tip of South America with the Strait of Magellan and Le Maire Strait. The coastlines of Tierra del Fuego (the land of fire) are incomplete. Fully engraved to shown the mountainous terrain with no other detail except a depiction of penguins. Richly arrayed with rhumb lines, a compass rose, galleons and sea monsters in addition to the three strapwork cartouches.
