Scarce, dissected and linen backed folding map between red cloth covered boards. The map covers the Lake district, extending from St. Bees Heads to Bampton, Carlisle to Ulverston. Brown ink traces the route of an earlier traveler. Included with the map key is a list on inns providing post horses and carriages for the traveler. An early newspaper clipping inside top cover gives a touching account of a traveler lost in the hills.
