Copper engraved Ptolemaic map of the region north of the Black and Caspian seas showing the ancient kingdom of Sarmatia. The map includes an interesting dragon-like creature in the border and is filled with ancient placenames. Browning along centerfold with a few tiny wormholes. Remnants of hinge paper on verso.
