Lovely copper engraved map of the kingdom and Portuguese Fort Jafnapatnam that was captured by the Dutch in 1658. The map is fully engraved to show the lush vegetation and villages and north is oriented to the bottom. It is embellished with elephants, sea monsters, sailing ships and a compass rose. The large title cartouche features men and children and the distance scale is enclosed by a pair of dragons. Remnants of paper hinges on verso.
