Fine example from the incunabula period with the combination of printed text and manuscript illumination. Panels on both sides are elaborately decorated with acanthus leaves in blue, red and green on a background of liquid gold. Seventeen initials are also painted in red, blue and gold. The text is from the Office of our Blessed Lady - Vespers, "O Lord, we beseech thee, that all thy saints may everywhere help us: that while we reverently recognize their favors, we may feel their patronages: and grant us thy peace in our times: from thy Church repel all wickedness; and dispose our way, acts, and wills, and of all thy servants in the prosperity of thy salvation: and return unto our benefactors eternal good things: and grant eternal rest to all faithful departed."
