In this large map, a major portion of the Territory is shown as Indian Reservation (Sioux and Fort Berthold). While the balance of the territory has been divided into counties, much survey work remains. Lines marking 40 & 50 mile limits relate to Northern Pacific railroad land grants. This is one of the most colorful and informative of the Territorial maps of this period. Lithographed by Julius Bien.
