Striking map of the Loire River valley with Angers at its heart. Fully engraved to graphically depict the river system with mountains and forests and hundreds of tiny villages. Large strapwork title cartouche and a scale of miles with a mythical creature and another small cartouche containing the date. Ortelius based the map on a now lost map by Lezin Guyet that was published in Paris, 1573. State 2 with Spanish text and page #27 on verso indicating it is from a 1612 edition.
