Superb map of the Kingdom of Naples, when it was a part of the Spanish dominions of the Habsburg Empire in Europe, as indicated by the Spanish arms at upper right. One of the most elaborate regional maps with panels of provincial armorials at each side. Blaeu based the geography on a 1620 map by Geovanni Antonio Magini. Within the detailed map are six sailing ships, including two sea battles, two compass roses, two coats of arms and the title cartouche which is flanked by mermaids.

Fine original color. Evenly toned with a couple of tiny paper flaws and some wormholes in margins, still very good.
