This fantastic map is a revision of De Bry's map of the same title. It illustrates the adventures of George Spilbergen in the Strait of Magellan in March, 1615. His experiences and observations are decoratively illustrated in this map. It shows one of the ships, on which there was a mutiny, turning back and the other five ships entering the strait. Later they were attacked by Indians with clubs and then met with friendly natives with whom they shared wine and fruit. It also shows the various flora and fauna (including a very comic rendition of a penguin) encountered during their exploits.
