Fine copper engraving with two figures from cartographic history (one carrying an armillary sphere and calipers, and the other displaying a rolled map). Terrestrial and celestial globes complete the very attractive sheet. Title imprint pasted onto sheet, as was common at the time of publication.

Professionally backed with light Japanese tissue to repair small chips and tears in margins, a couple of which have intruded into the image unobtrusively.
