Early state of this fine map of Maryland colored by county and showing early settlements and roads. This example does not have a road connecting Alexandria with Mount Vernon. Inset "Western Part of Maryland". Only nineteen counties shown and the District of Columbia. Title in script below the inset. A fine example of this early state map.
