Fine pictorial title page designed by Johannes Degler and engraved by Joseph a' Montalegre. The chapters of the "Atlas Marinus" were devoted to the sea-going nations of the world. This scene depicts a busy dock and harbor filled with exotic people and goods from around the world reflecting the Dutch trade dominance. Four putti hold the charming baroque cartouche.
