Bird's-eye view of the fortifications at Dunkirk with a Dutch fleet of ships, commanded by Admiral Maarten Harpertsz Tromp, shown offshore in 1646. Admiral Tromp took action against the pirates that pestered the Dutch VOC fleets and destroyed their haven at Dunkirk. A very attractive chart with a compass rose and rhumb lines.
