Miniature map of Northern Asia and Northwestern North America from this Italian edition of the pocket atlas. The focus of the map is the Stretto de Anian based on the theory of Giacomo Gastaldi. The southern entrance to this straight is a large and strangely shaped Japan with a notation concerning the writings of Marco Polo. The Sierra Nevadas are named in California, as are five of the mythical cities of Cibolla. On a full sheet with Italian text below and on verso.
