This is the 1882 English edition with two volumes published in one, translated by Alexander Leslie. A detailed and very well-illustrated account of the Vega expedition for the purpose of proving the Northeast Passage navigable by steamship and of doing research in the geography, geology and history of the Siberian Arctic regions. Thick 8vo, 756pp, 298 woodcuts, 5 portraits, 10 folding lithographed maps including two large maps at back. Hardbound in green buckram.
